Our Team
Our programs are focused on preparing young people physically, mentally and artistically to become dancers. Our teachers support the students with their experience and recognition. To allow combining the dance formation with formal studies and other activities, we offer programs of different intensities. The full program can be combined with private lessons on demand.

Cinthia Labaronne
Founder & Artistic Director
Ballet and Points Teacher
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she started her ballet formation when she was 5 years old at the Colon Theatre’s Institute of Art in Buenos Aires. In 1990 she won the Revelation Award at the Varna Competition and The Encouragement Award in 1992. At the age of 14, she began working with the Ballet Argentino in Buenos Aires (Director: Julio Bocca). Two years after, she became a member of the Colon Theatre Ballet Company. In 1993, she was invited to Australia by Rudolf Nureyev to join the “Nureyev Farewell Tour”. Maximiliano Guerra chose her in 1994 to be his partner for the performances at the Theatre de Colon and the Municipal Theater in Buenos Aires. Soon after that, she was selected by the choreographer Pierre Lacotte for the title role in his Ballet “La Sylphide”. The same year, Pierre Lacotte invited her to join the Ballet National de Nancy as Principal Dancer. In 1999 she joined the Marseille National Ballet as principal dancer under the direction of Marie Claude Pietragalla and finally in 2011 Richard Wherlock invited her to join the Ballettensemble of the Theater Basel.
She has performed every major role in the classical repertoire and has toured extensively throughout Europe, South- and Central america and has performed in some of the world’s greatest theaters such as the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where she performed works of Lacotte, Bournonville, Petipa, Spada, Nureyev, Balanchine, Fokine, Kylian, Wherlock, Delente, Duboc, Pietragalla, Malandain, Redha, Brumachon, Cachulianau, Prejlocaj.
Since 2013, she has dedicated herself to teaching professional ballet, preparing and forming students to different competitions and guiding them to start their professional career.
Since 2015, she is a coach for the Prix de Lausanne.
As of today she is an important jury member at international dance competitions and works with prestigious schools and companies around the world in addition to being the director and teacher of Pro Ballet School.

Gabriela Brahier Stark
Managing Director
Born in Basel, Switzerland, Classical Ballet and Figure Skating have been her hobbies during the school days. After her baccalaureate, she studied Protestant Theology in Basel and Montpellier (France). After receiving her doctoral degree she deepened her ethical thinking at the Center for Ethics of the University of Zurich. There she worked on questions of business and leadership ethics.
Having worked at different Universities and also as a pastor in the protestant parish of Reinach, Baselland, she decided to change to the private sector. As a management consultant, she travelled around the world and initiated and accompanied processes to transform leaders and business-cultures. A holistic view of business knows: people are the key to any type of success, even in business. With this view on the strengths and contributions of the individual, she came back to Basel becoming an Associate Partner and Head of Assessment Center at MPB Recruitment Group. Gabriela is a proactive, open and culturally interested person with an excellent network. She is the Managing Director of Pro Ballet School since 1st January 2023. She is happy to lead the school to a prosperous future and to stand up for the young dancers who deserve more than a professional ballet formation. Beyond they shall find motivation and friendship, dedication and team spirit – all the ingredients allowing them to lead a fulfilling life.

Maria Libertad Pedreira
Ballet for Children Teacher
Her name is Maria Libertad Pedreira and she was born in Madrid.
She began studying dance at the age of 12.
After she finished her diploma in classical ballet at the Conservatory for Music and Dance, she left Spain to start her career as a classical dancer in many different countries. After a long stay in Cuba, she returned to Europe.
She worked in ballet ensembles in Spain, France and lastly, in Switzerland, in Basel.
She settled here 25 years ago to continue her career as a professional contemporary dancer.
With more than 30 years teaching experience of classical and contemporary dance, she has also taken further training in
movement , yoga and fitness.
Her children’s dance lessons introduce children to music and movement.
In a playfully experimentally way, children experience movement, explore what their bodies are capable of, discover creativity and ways of expressing themselves, develop an ear for music and come into contact with other children. The main objective is to stimulate creativity.

Anthony Ramiandrisoa
Ballet and Contemporary Teacher
He is a Malagasy/French dancer born in Madagascar who grew up in Lyon (France).
Receiving his professional education at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon, he graduated and integrated into the Junior Ballet.
Anthony has worked with many different teachers and choreographers during his formation.
He has been a member of Ballet Theater Basel since August 2012 where he was chosen to work with different renowned choreographers as Jiri Kylian, Hofesh, Shechter, Sharon Eyal, Richard Wherlock, Bryan Arias, Juru Pokorni, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Itzik Galili, Stjin Celis and Ed Wubbe.

Alexander Bezuijen
Contemporary Teacher
Born in a village of meditators, raised between artistry and sports, Alexander learned to view the world with open eyes.
His dance education started at the age of seven and was completed in Zurich at the dance academy(TaZ) in 2015.
From 2015-2018 he danced in several renowned companies such as the Netherlands Dance Theatre, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, or the State Theatre of Hessen as a soloist dancer, allowing himself to work personally with choreographers such as Akram Khan, Wayne McGregor and Hofesh Schechter .
Creating now his own performances, he already has collaborated with the university of Darmstadt, the Opera of Wiesbaden, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Laura Rae Bernasconi’s company, and others.
He keeps deepening himself into the mechanics of the human body, so he can share more tools as a postural trainer for anatomical restructuring, energy field alignment and creating a coherent and healthy life-style.

Debora Maiques Marin
Pilates Teacher
Born in Barcelona, Spain. Debora started her first ballet steps within the Elise Lummis School completing all the Royal Academy of Dancing from London exams with high qualifications and achieved different scholarships for international programs.
Her first professional dance experience took her to Madrid with N. Duato for few years, afterwards she wanted to explore different choreographers so she moved to Valencia and finally Basel where she danced as a soloist for 17 years, working with the following famous cherographers R. Wherlock,J. Kilian, J. Inger, H. Scheckter and A. Ekman.
10 years ago Debora discoved Pilates and initiated the start of her journey and interest in becoming a Pilates instructor. She obtained her first Mat Classic diploma in Barcelona at Anef, recently she is completing her coaching training for different modules at the PILATESwiss in Zürich, where she has already qualified for the following Pilates courses: Postnatal, Barrels and Mat Classic.
